TUESDAY MARCH 5

Today we took a bus to the Shrine of Baha'u'llah who is the Founder of the Baha'i Faith. This is where He is buried, near Akka. It was beautiful. We went in and prayed for one hour. An aura of incredible peace surrounded us. We took pictures of the beautiful surrounding grounds, but were not allowed to take pictures inside.

Here are Mike and Beth on the bus with their matching mint green shirts.

Here's Emily and a new friend Rachael Abraham from D.C.

In the afternoon we went to the Universal House of Justice. They served tea and cookies. There were about 400 people there we think. Eight House of Justice shook hands with every person there. Here is a picture of the building right on Mt. Carmel. It's beautiful. Marble steps and stairs everywhere. Columns of Italian marble we're told.

We ate dinner at a Japanese Restaurant Japaniko that we walked to from the hotel. All 3 of us had Teriyaki grilled salmon. Delicious. Tipping is  different in this country. We added the tip onto the bill when we charged it and the waiter said, "What's this?" Evidently they can only take a tip in cash, not on a credit card. And in a taxi, if you take the meter rate, you tip. If you pay a flat fee, you don't tip.
