THURSDAY MARCH 7

Got up at 5:30 and went up to the Shrine of the Bab again for sunrise prayers. So awesome and majestic. BTW, Emily, Mike and Beth are all contributing to this blog.

Took a bus out to the Mansion of Mazra'ih just north of Akka where Baha'u'llah had lived for a while after He got out of prison.

Then we went to the Mansion of Bahji also north of Akka. Many people lived there and pilgrims stayed there when they visited Bahaullah. He stayed there until His soul went to heaven in 1892. We had a group picture taken there. They group the people by language. There were 4 English groups, 1 Italian group, 1 Spanish, and 1 Persian.

We went to the reception center and ate our lunches that we brought and had tea. This house is next to the Shrine of Bahaullah so we went there for half an hour to pray before returning to the hotel. Then the 3 of us went to a laundromat. The sweet young girl there washed and dried the loads for us so Mike rode the subway for fun while Emily and Beth went to Greg's for coffee, tea, and pastry while waiting for the girl to finish our laundry.  Not used to that!
Had dinner at The Giraffe, a Thai restaurant. Marvelous! The music that all these restaurants have playing amuses us. 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s American rock. Elvis Presley, Bread, Loving Spoonful. Even in places where no one speaks English. And as we walked back to the hotel, there were cars that drove clear up onto the sidewalk to park. Crazy.
